Catalogue Note
This publication was an announcement of injunctions for the royal visitation of the Church. "The content... amounted to a careful reworking of Henrician injunctions in the evangelical interest... in certain respects they stepped out beyond Henry in ways which would inflict deep wounds on traditional devotion. For instance, processions were forbidden... and recitation of the rosary was comprehensively condemned" (D. MacCullough, The Boy King: Edward VI and the Protestant Reformation, 2002, pp.69-70).
