Catalogue Note

A collection of rare or unusual tracts, mostly of an anti-catholic or reforming nature. The tract by St Antonino of Florence regards the sale of indulgences, the letter opposing celibacy for priests is supposedly by St Ulrich, bishop of Augsburg (though it only appeared a hundred years after his death in 973AD and was printed here as part of Luther's early press campaign), and Daniel Featley was a Protestant controversialist (he wrote Roma ruens in prison).
