Catalogue Note

Morin printed several Sarum Missals at Rouen, the first appearing in 1492 (Duff 323; Weale-Bohatta 1389); his name appears in the initial "M" on the title-page. As usually happens with pre-Reformation service books that survived in England, references to St Thomas a Becket have been crossed out, together with a few instances of "papa" (Pope). For another Sarum Missal by Morin, also with the same deletions, see lot 104, and for another Sarum work by Regnault, see lot 38 (Hours, 1538).
