Condition

The photography in the printed catalogue is slightly too light especially in the bodies. Under naked eye the painting appears in good condition and it seems to have been formerly relined Under UV light, a thick old varnish appears by places. A few tiny retouchings are scattered over the surface, along the edges, on the upper edge and on the right edge, and on the left shoulder of the shepherd on the left. A small tear (5cm) is restored in the mount on the upper left hand side. Overall good condition

Catalogue Note
