The painting is in overall very good condition. It has been recently properly cleaned. No visible restoration. Under UV light: Under a green varnish which has been cleaned in the sky. There are several campaign of restoration in the sky and one more recent along the right edge. There is a little retouching in the group of characters.

Le musée de Nancy conserve plusieurs oeuvres de l'artiste considéré comme l'un des plus grands paysagistes lorrain de la seconde partie du XVIIIe siècle. Il possède notamment une vue panoramique de Nancy prise depuis les hauteurs des collines de Malzéville.
