The painting is in overall good condition. It is painted on a paper laid down on cardboard with a band of one centimetre added in the upper part. It has been recently properly cleaned. Under UV lamp: There are some restoration along the addition and along some old folds: one oblique along the entire length of the sheet through the character height of his right shoulder, another one going from his face to his torso. There is a slightly restored horizontal crease in the centre, in the arm and the drapery. Another horizontal crease has been retouched in his thigh. These retouching are minor and can only be seen on close inspection.
