It has been a bit strongly relined during the first part of the 20th century.
It is under a dirty uniform varnish which needs to be remove.

Le tableau présenté ici est une version de la composition Orazione nell'orto conservé au Allen Memorial Art Museum, Oberlin, Ohio. Nous connaissons plusieurs versions de cette composition avec une participation plus ou moins importante de l'atelier. Selon le Docteur Herwarth Röttgen notre tableau est une version de l'atelier de Guiseppe Cesari de très belle qualité et dont la réalisation a été supervisée par le peintre.
