Description
- George Nakashima
- Pair of Five Drawer Chests
- American black walnut
Provenance
Acquired directly from the original owner
Condition
Overall very good original condition. The tops of each of the chests with an artistic gentle free edge and caramel colored sap lines. The proper left corner of one of the chests appears to have been restored at some point in the works history to repair a minor edge loss, and presently the repair sits slightly askew. The tops with a few shallow surface scratches and dings consistent with gentle use. There is one small circular discoloration to the top, which is minor. The lower feet with a few scattered edge nicks, dings and scratches consistent with age and use. A fine well-matched pair of chests with a custom drawer configuration, featuring five same size drawers.
