The green rectangular marble top above a fall-front mounted with a Chinese black lacquer panel decorated with a house on a hill and large chrysanthemum tree opening to an arrangment of Japanese lacquer drawers before a leather-lined writing surface, the lower section fitted with a pair of cupboard doors fitted with Japanese lacquer panels and opening to Japanese black and gilt lacquer drawers, the whole raised on part-ebonized giltwood leaf-carved tapering legs on block feet. Comprising Chinese and Japanese lacquer panels from the 17th and 18th centuries.

Good condition; the marble top later; right side panel with minor lifting to lacquer of top frieze; side panels with some minor old age cracks with some restorations; overall with some small nicks and chips to extremities; lacquer appears to be stable and in good condition.
