Canvas buckling slightly.
Some small, minimally flaking paint losses in the tree top of the left tree. Faint, horizontal craquelures in the area of the river shore and in the reflection to the right. Conservation recomeneded sometime or other.
Minor retouchings visible under uv-light to the upper right, the upper middle and above the right tree.

Catalogue Note
Nach Wanderjahren in München, Paris und Pont-Aven kehrte Cuno Amiet 1893 in seine Geburtsstadt Solothurn zurück. Einen definitiven Umzug in die damaligen Kunstzentren lehnte der noch junge Schweizer im Unterschied zu vielen seiner Malerkollegen ab. Das idyllische Dorf Oschwand im Kanton Bern wurde ab 1898 zu seiner Heimat. An künstlerischer Inspiration sollte es Amiet jedoch keineswegs fehlen: Sein Haus wurde zu einem Mekka für Künstler, Musiker, Schriftsteller, Schüler und Freunde. Die sichtbare Welt, eine ihm innig vertraute, ländliche Umgebung liess Amiet eine farbenfrohe Bildwelt voller wiederkehrender und doch stets changierender Motive schaffen.
In diesem Sinne hat unsere Aarelandschaft hinsichtlich der dargestellten Stelle am Flussufer auch ein eine Art Pendant, als hätte Amiet nur eben die Blickrichtung gewechselt: Aarelandschaft mit Sankt Ursen Kathedrale in Solothurn, 1948 gemalt.
In diesem Sinne hat unsere Aarelandschaft hinsichtlich der dargestellten Stelle am Flussufer auch ein eine Art Pendant, als hätte Amiet nur eben die Blickrichtung gewechselt: Aarelandschaft mit Sankt Ursen Kathedrale in Solothurn, 1948 gemalt.
