Description

in Gothic taste, repoussé with strapwork and trefoil arches, the sides applied with male and female busts in medieval costume, the hinged lid with heraldic lion finial, the body engraved with initials WB above 'W Burjam' and Swedish inscription 'In Memory of the Nordiska Investment Bank / 25 Years of Work 1873-1898 / in Administration', scroll handle, gilt interior, maker's marks obliterated, possibly Grachev, 84 standard

Condition

Very good condition. Evidence of previous gilding remains in places. The finial and finial very slightly loose. The surface with light wear consistent with age and use.
