the oklad frame repoussĂ© and chased with trailing flowers and leaf scrolls, the ground engraved with foliate diaper pattern, the saint represented half-length, his right hand raised in benediction, holding the champlevĂ© enamel Gospel book in his other hand, the pierced halo and crown decorated with vari-coloured cloisonnĂ© enamel, unrecorded maker's mark F.S (Cyrillic), 84 standard

Condition

The oklad in very good condition. The painting severely damaged and covered with darkened varnish and dirt. We would advise prospective buyers to view.
