- height of Persian man 21.4cm, 8 3/8 in.
the first after a 1908 design by Pavel Kamenskii from the series 'Peoples of Russia' depicting a woman in richly patterned scarf, vest and skirt and embroidered shirt carrying a basket, with blue factory marked, with a black Cyrillic signature of factory artist Elena Kubarskaya dated 5 November 1929; the second after a 1912 model by Kamesnkii from the same series, modelled as standing Persian man in blue pants and pale lavender vest, with impressed factory mark and with the iron red export stamp reading Made in Russia
Condition
both well painted, the face of the woman from the Tula guberniia particularly delicately painted and with vibrant, detailed ornament on her clothing; the Persian man with similar detail; both in very good condition, the vest of the Persian man with rubbing to the edges in front and back and with an area of accretion at the back, possibly glaze
