the ebonized wood elephant covered with rich caparison mounted in pearls and cabochon rubies, emeralds, sapphires, opals, turquoise, carnelian, garnets, and yellow beryls, trimmed with matching beads, the howdah fitted with a seated dignitary, on silver-covered rectangular base 

Condition

small chip to end of trunk and some rubbing to surface of elephant, a few minor stones missing, hole at head suggests may have had a mahout, otherwise good, rich mounting of stones
