after a 1909 design by Pavel Kamenskii (1858-1922) for the 'Peoples of Russia' series, modeled standing with arms crossed, dressed in a richly-patterned hat, scarf and skirt with purple sarafan, with a stamped blue 1937 Jubilee factory mark and the Cyrillic initials LFZ in green, numbered 210/19 in red and with the monogram of factory painter Varvara Petrovna Freze (1883-1970) in iron red

attractively painted and overall good condition, some small inherent firing flaws apparent on the back of the figure's sarafan
