Catalogue Note

The firm of Ovchinnikov supplied many of Russia's most prominent and wealthy citizens with imposing, intricately enamelled punch sets.  This sumptuous example is distinguished by the unusual inclusion of carved gemstones and numerous small details, such as the enamelled sunflowers hidden in the raised area meant to hold each cup.
