the borders of the chased and gilded oklad applied with enamelled plaques, the halo similarly enamelled, the oklad, Moscow, 1895, struck with Cyrillic initials S.V.U. of an unrecorded maker

Condition

the oklad crisp and with good detail; the edges with some slight bending consistent with age; the surface of the icon with some damage from the back of the oklad and the velvet backing with slight fraying
