Catalogue Note
Alexander Mironov (1826-1898/99) and Konstantin Krasovskii (1834-1906), among the most talented figure and flower painters on porcelain in nineteenth-century Russia, both came from families whose members worked at the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory. The two collaborated on numerous projects destined for diplomatic gifts or international expositions. (See N.S. Petrova, Farfor i roza, St. Petersburg, 2010, pp. 13-15). A nearly identical jardinière dated 1871 was sold at Sotheby's London, 18 November 1999, lot 486, illustrated.
