Catalogue Note

Prince Józef Klemens Czartoryski (1740–1810) founded this manufactory in the village of Korzec (today Korets, Ukraine) in 1783. In the early 19th century, Merault, a chemist from Sèvres, was hired to oversee the factory and his skills can be seen in both the quality of the manufactory's glazes and the whiteness of its porcelain. The factory's existence was so short-lived, and often interrupted by the Napoleonic Wars, that its production was limited and its wares appear only rarely on the market.
