rectangular with bombé sides, the pink aventurine quartz panels within finely engraved cagework mounts chased with scrolls, raised scroll thumbpiece, struck with maker's mark IS or JS (Latin) and later French control marks

The gold cagework very fine; the lid with a tiny nick, the right exterior side with a small area of loss and a small crack
