Provenance
A gift to the mother of the present owner, head of the infirmary at the labour camp Vetlosyan, to which Sveshnikov was transferred in 1948
Condition
Original canvas. On the reverse, there is a repaired vertical tear from the top edge almost to the lower edge. The canvas has some slight unevenness along the edges. Horizontal and vertical stretcher marks are visible along the left, top, and also faintly along the lower edge. There is craquelure throughout and scattered minor spots of paint loss in the top middle and near the feet of the figures. UV light reveals two minor areas of retouching in the top middle. Held in a wooden frame. Unexamined out of frame.
