Commissioned in Riga before 1940 by the father of the present owner

Condition

Original canvas, which has a minor undulation in the bottom right corner. There is a small chip of paint loss to the third tulip from the right and a few flecks elsewhere in the centre of the flower composition. The paint surface appears to be seen in the lower part of the canvas. UV light reveals no apparent retouchings. Some pigments fluoresce under UV light. Held in a gold painted frame with mouldings. Unexamined out of frame.
