Catalogue Note

Kuznetsov arrived in Los Angeles in 1948 and his work was rapidly acquired by a nostalgic Russian émigré community. He was a talented illustrator and became closely associated with Cathedral Films. Sonia Colefax commissioned over 50 works directly from the artist which supplemented her superb collection of Russian Art from the 1924 exhibition at New York's Grand Central Palace.
