Condition

The cardboard is in good order and is attached to a cardboard mount in all four corners. Inspection under UV light does not reveal any signs of restoration. Held in a simple frame. Uninspected out of frame.

Catalogue Note

According to an anecdote, Korovin painted the present picture during an exhibition of modern art held in Riga. The artist joked that he could paint in any style if he wanted to, and chose one of his favourite subjects to demonstrate his talent.
