Condition

Unidentified: The sheet is slightly dirty and has flecks of foxing in places throughout, including one spot in the middle right. The sheet is held in a modern wood frame and under glass. Unexamined out of frame. Lissenko: The sheet is slightly dirty and there is a minor piece missing from the top right corner. There are several small tears along the left, top and right edges. There is minor buckling and creases in places throughout. A textual or possibly numerical imprint is very faintly visible along the left edge. There are small spots of foxing, especially in the top left and bottom right areas. Held in a modern wood frame and under glass. Unexamined out of frame. Ruslan: The sheet is slightly dirty with several tiny holes along the edges. A textual or possibly numerical imprint is very faintly visible along the left edge. There are flecks of foxing in places throughout, in particular in the top left and the lower right, which also has a small, possible stain. There is minor colour loss at several points along the gold card, especially in the lower middle; the card is also slightly loose or with bent edges in places throughout. Held in a modern wood frame and under glass. Unexamined out of frame.

Including a costume design for Nathalie Lissenko in Jean Epstein's film Le Lion des Mogols (1924) and Ruslan in the opera Ruslan et Ludmila (1930) Paris, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées. All three designs are illustrated in the forthcoming monograph on the artist by René Clémenti-Bilinsky.
