Condition

The canvas has been laid on board. The paint surface is slightly dirty, especially to the impasto. UV light reveals an uneven layer of fluorescing varnish. There is a horizontal line of retouching running along the top inner edge of the work. Held in a carved bronze painted wooden frame with some losses to the carving. Unexamined out of frame.
