Condition

Original canvas, with oil sketching on the reverse. The surface is covered with a layer of varnish and there are some fine lines of craquelure. There are some areas of very minor paint loss around the edges and the canvas is undulated in the upper left corner, with a small abrasion. Under UV small amounts of pigment fluoresce in the porcelain figures at right, but varnish prevents a conclusive analysis. Held in a frame. Unexamined out of frame.
