Condition

The sheet appears sounds and has discoloured due to age. There is some minor undulation to the surface of the paper due to the way it has been attached to the mount. Held in a gold wooden frame under glass. Unexamined out of frame.

Catalogue Note

Jean Babilée (b.1923), the French dancer and choreographer, is one of modern ballet’s greatest performers and has frequently been compared to Nijinsky. He was principal dancer for several celebrated companies, including Les Ballets des Champs-Elysées and Les Ballets de Paris, before forming his own company Les Ballets Jean Babilée in the 1950s.
