Condition

There are minor nicks to the lower edges of the paper. There are spots of foxing in the upper left quadrant and minor areas of dirt in places. The paper is undulating slightly due to the adhesive fixing it to the mount. Held in a wooden frame under glass. Unexamined out of frame.

This lavish 1914 production was based on the biblical story of Joseph. Bakst went to Venice to seek inspiration for his suptuous designs which recall the Italian Renaissance and the paintings of Veronese.
