- Ormolu, bronze, enamel, steel
- 56cm. 22in. high
5ΒΌ-inch enamel dial signed Deverberie, Rue Barbet au Marais, bell striking movement with star cut count wheel and later Brocot suspension, the case surmounted by the figure of Africa seated on a tasselled cushion with a dog to the side, carried on a draped palanquin supported by four young boys standing on a rectangular plinth inset on the front and sides with a frieze depicting putti engaged in various pursuits

Condition
Dial with chips to right winding hole and now secured by adhesive, tip of hour hand altered. Movement is complete but much in of a clean, suspension altered. Case with good original gilding and patination, other areas formerly lacquered but now rather discoloured, principle figure lacking a bow, one tassel lacking from cushion, generally in nned of a clean. With pendulum but no winder.
