Le Service de Chasse de Fontainebleau was purchased by Louis-Philippe I King of the French between 1839-1841, having been ordered on 26 June 1835. The original service consisted of over 2,000 pieces, and the decoration was based on drawings by Jean-Charles François Leloy.
