Description

  • Hound Playing with a Cat
  • Signed: J. GOTT. FT
  • white marble
  • Joseph Gott (1785-1860) British, early 19th century

Condition

The condition of the marble is good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. The dog's proper left ear and the cat's proper right ear and tail are restored. There are also restorations to the dog's proper right hind leg and abdomen. However, despite this, the marble largely retains its original surface, which is very beautiful indeed.
