Description

  • bamboo, ivory - dates 1890-1930
  • stand 60cm. high; 1ft. 11¾in.

Condition

Old minor marks, chips and wear commensurate with normal age and usage. There is a tôle liner to the stand which is worn. The umbrella with the child in a ruff- there are a couple of miniscule chips to the hat and evidence of old glue. There are some repairs to the silk with fading and discolouration with a later modern black cover. The other umberella with a dog's head handle-has had previous breaks to the handle and there is a hole below the collar as a result It has a later modern burgundy cover. The bamboo walking stick has the remains of a printed trade label and has a crack running down the lower third section. The ivory tipped one is in good condition. The other one has two dents in the handle and a dent in the stick section.
