numbered in the negative, the photographer's Federal Art Project 'Changing New York' and caption stamps, with title, date, and annotations in pencil, on the reverse, 1938 (Yochelson, Lower East Side, pl. 35)

Condition

This photograph, on semi-glossy single-weight paper, is in generally excellent condition. The print is numbered indistinctly in the negative. In the black margin edges and in the lower left corner of the image, there are 4 small clamp impressions. The tips of the margin corners are bumped and there is minimal edge wear. In high raking light, a few small, soft handling creases are visible overall. The reverse of the print is lightly soiled and appropriately age-darkened at its periphery. On the reverse of the print, the 'Changing New York' stamp is annotated in pencil with the following information: Place: '316 Bowery Manhattan' Neg. # '276' Code: 'III-6-3' Date: 'January 26, 1938'
