Description
- Brett Weston
- 'TEN PHOTOGRAPHS'
- portfolio of 10 gelatin silver prints
(Carmel: self-published, 1981, an edition of 50), a portfolio of 10 photographs, each mounted, signed and dated in pencil on the mount, 1945-62, printed in 1981; together with the printed colophon. Folio, taupe cloth portfolio with flaps and black lettering
Provenance
Acquired from Erica Weston, the photographer’s daughter
Condition
In 1963, Brett Weston intended to publish 25 copies of 'Ten Photographs,' but was unable to complete the edition due to a lack of funds. In 1981, Weston returned to this portfolio, completed the edition, and expanded it to 50, as was his later preferred edition size. The present portfolio is from the 1981 printing.
These prints are in generally excellent condition. In raking light, faint silvering is visible at some print edges. The reverse of a few mounts are very lightly soiled.
