signed and dated in ink on the image, the photographer's 'Foto Ilse Bing, Paris, 1932' stamp on the reverse, hinged to a mount with the same stamp, 1932
Provenance
Acquired from Edwynn Houk Gallery, New York, 1997
Condition
This fine early print, on lightly textured paper with a faint surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition. When examined closely, tiny, expertly-applied deposits of original retouching are visible on the image.
This print is hinged along the top edge with cloth tape to a buff card mount that is folded over at the left, with staples (now rusty) holding the hinges in place through the fold. Light foxing is visible on the front and reverse of the mount, but this does not intrude upon the print. There are two hole-punches along the folded mount edge, and there is a small tear along the lower edge of the mount.
When examined under ultraviolet light, this print does not appear to fluoresce.
