Description

- Gelatin silver print
signed, dated, and annotated 'n.y.' in pencil on the reverse, 1942 (Levitt, pl. 6)
Condition
This early, slightly warm-toned print, on double-weight paper with a faint surface sheen, is in generally excellent condition. As is sometimes seen in prints made from 35mm negatives, the film edge, with the negative's sprocket holes, is visible along the right edge of the print. The photographer's original retouching is visible overall. In raking light, a sharp, one-inch crease is visible in the upper central portion of the image.
The margins are worn and the lower right corner is creased. There are 2 linen tape hinge remnants on the reverse.
When examined under ultraviolet light, this print does not appear to fluoresce.
