  • 'JAY STREET #115'

Condition

This photograph, on smooth, double-weight paper with a surface sheen, is in generally very good condition. The right edge of the image is somewhat warmer in tonality. In raking light, the following are visible: a 1/4-inch scratch in the area of the doorway that does not appear to break the emulsion; and a few tiny deposits of original retouching overall. Silvering is visible in the black margin edges. There are small clamp impressions in the margin corners. There is minor edge wear, and the tips of the margin corners are worn, with attendant losses of emulsion. The reverse of the print is appropriately age-darkened at its periphery. On the reverse of the print, the 'Changing New York' stamp is annotated in colored pencil with the following information: Place: 'Brooklyn, Ny' Neg. # '90' Code: 'III-A' Date: 'May 22, 1936'
