signed in pencil in the margin, mounted, title, date, and annotations in pencil on the reverse, 1955, printed later (The Eye That Shapes, pl. 121)

Condition

This print is in generally good condition. When the image is examined in raking light, the following are visible: a small, matte deposit in the right portion; several hairline scratches in the upper portion; and a few impressions in the center portion that do not appear to break the emulsion. There are scattered tiny dark deposits, possibly ink, in the margin and in isolated areas on the image. The window mat is hinged directly to the mount. On the reverse of the mount, there is a 2-1/8-inch yellowed band across the upper edge. There is some soiling to the reverse of the mount. Also on the reverse, the following is written in an unidentified hand in pencil: title 'Road and Poplar Trees;' date '1955;' and annotations 'framed,' 'c-oak,' 'flat bek,' and '9517.'
