Tirage argentique d'époque. Avec le tampon 'Man Ray 31bis, Rue Campagne Première Paris' (Manford M3) et annoté Villon au stylo à bille d'une main inconnue au verso. Annoté Jacques Villon derrière le verre par Marcel Duchamp au stylo à bille sur le passe-partout. Monté sous passe-partout et encadré.

Condition

In very good condition. With a few tiny scuff marks and one tiny loss in the gelatin layer near the right edge of the image, two small spots of deposit and one small clear smear (approx. 4mm) in the lower right quadrant. With light silvering in the black areas along the edges.

Jacques Villon (1875 – 1963) confesse à Pierre Cabanne qu’il se sentait isolé dans son atelier de Puteaux dans les années 1920 avec l’éloignement de Marcel Duchamp (1887 – 1968) à New-York d'une part et la disparition de Raymond Duchamp-Villon (1876 – 1918) d'autre part. D’une certaine manière, la Glissière ou étude pour Le Grand Verre par Marcel Duchamp, et la sculpture en plâtre de Raymond Duchamp-Villon présents aux côtés de Jacques Villon représentent les trois frères Duchamp réunis.
