excellent apart from small damage at left corner of hinge and hinge repair.

Il existe un certain nombre de tabatières de présentation au chiffre de Napoléon III, mais celles datant de sa brève période comme Prince Président sont bien plus rares.
Although presentation boxes decorated with the cipher of Napoleon III are to be found relatively often, it is much more unusual to find a box dating from his brief sojourn as Prince President.
Following the revolution of 1848 when the king, Louis Philippe, was deposed, Prince Louis Napoleon, nephew of Napoleon I, took control as Prince President between 1848 and 1851 when he was declared Emperor.
