Catalogue Note

Simon-Achille Léger insculpa ses deux poinçons, le différend une pomme et un arc placés à différents endroits, pour 'le gros bijou: la tabatière et la partie du nécessaire’ en 1815/1816 puis en 1820; ce dernier fut retiré le 30 décembre 1826. Il eut deux adresses à Paris, le 13 rue du Roule en 1817 et le 8 rue des Prouvaires en 1822. C'est Louis-François Tronquoy qui reprit l'affaire (voir lots 49, 57 et 58).

Simon-Achille Léger entered two marks, featuring an apple and a bow in different positions, for ‘le gros bijou: la tabatière et la partie du nécessaire’ in 1815/16 and then in 1820; this last was was withdrawn on 30 December 1826. He is recorded at two addresses in Paris: 13 rue du Roule in 1817 and 8 rue des Prouvaires in 1822. He was succeeded at this latter address by the gold box maker Louis-François Tronquoy (see lots 49, 57 and 58).
