the first, rectangular, the plaque inlaid with a view of the Ponte Lucano, silver-gilt hinges, maker's mark of Frederic Madoulé, Paris, 1823-1838 ; the other box, circular, the sides and base striped in patterned red gold with reeded yellow gold rims, charge mark of Jean-Jacques Prevost, Paris, 1762-1768, and later discharge,the lid inset with a later micromosaique panel inlaid with a strutting cockerel, within a black and white border
Condition
1st box: has been cracked and well repaired. plaque in good condition.
2nd: box in good codnition apart from glue staining on interior of lid. plaque with repaired damage to border at 12 o'clock.
