Condition

View of Westminister: The canvas is lined. The surface is in good condition but appears slightly pressed due to the lining and there is patterned craquelure throughout. Frame abrasion on all 4 edges and losses in the upper right corner. Under UV; scattered pinpoint retouches in the sky, in the building in the center and along the edges. The Old Northumberland House: The canvas is lined. The surface is in good condition but has areas of abrasion where the ground is visible and appears slightly pressed due to the lining. an old repaired tear can be seen in clouds at center and runs over through lion to tower at right. there is discolored retouching along the tear. an old filled loss also visible in sky. There is patterned craquelure throughout and frame abrasion around all 4 edges. Under UV; scattered pinpoint retouches in the sky and along the edges.
