The following condition report has been provided by Simon Parkes of Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. 502 East 74th St. New York, NY 212-734-3920, simonparkes@msn.com, an independent restorer who is not an employee of Sotheby's. This painting has been recently restored. Although the cracking is slightly raised, further attention is not recommended to either the lining or the retouching. Under ultraviolet light, retouches are visible throughout that have been added to reduce some cracking. There is a larger loss of about half an inch square in the neck on the left side. The lower left corner shows retouches, as does the lower center edge. In the upper left corner, there are also a few other retouches. The restoration has been nicely applied, and the picture looks well as a result.
