Catalogue Note

These two views of Rome were probably intended as Grand Tour souvenirs.  Kaisermann went to Rome in 1789 to work as an assistant to Abraham-Louis-Rodolphe Ducros.  Together both he and Ducros produced a large amount of drawn and etched works to meet the high demand for views of the City and the surrounding areas.
