Condition

The catalogue illustration is representative. Painted on an oval panel with a very slight bow althoughh this is not enough to have compromisd the paint surface. The paint surface appears to be in good overal condition with no apparent damage or loss of paint. Examination under ultraviolet reveals retouching throughout the upper band of sky and to a lesser extent to the smoke below. There is also retoucing to the dark brickwork centre left and right, and there is a little further retoucing along the lower edge. Offered in a gilt wood and plaster frame with an oval inlay in good overall condition.
