Condition

This panel is un cradled, but remains very stable and flat. The paint surface is thinning in the sky and clouds, but the paint surface in the lower half remains thicker. Examination under Ultraviolet light shows minor over painting to details like the vegetation growing on the town walls, to the boat in the middle distance left. Small patches, in the upper right corner and upper left edge of the painting, have had surface damage repaired, as has a 4 cm scratch upper left in the sky. Surprisingly for this kind of painting, there are only tiny spots of retouching in the sky. This lot is sold in a simple wood frame in good condition.
