- A garland of flowers around a stone cartouche depicting the Virgin and Child and Saint John
- signed and dated lower centre: ...essel fecit . anno 1660 .
- oil on canvas
Condition
The canvas has been recently lined and is stable. The paint surface is a little pressed by the lining. There are few small restored damages, in the main around the margins but a couple on the blooms themselves. Inspection under ultra violet light reveals some retouching to some of the darker areas of foliage and background. The varnish layer is uneven
