Condition

The catalogue illustration is too sombre. The support consists of two horizontal oak planks, and has developed a marked but acceptable convex bow. There is an old panel join in the centre and an old 22 cm split lower right about 13 cm from the bottom edge. The first is visible and slightly open, the latter not so. The paint surface appears to be in excellent condition, with little or no sign of wear, but the thick and yellowed varnish layer above it prevents any assessent under ultra-violet light at all. Offerd with a modern dark stained wood frame in good condition.
